Kathleen S. Lloyd, or Katie, is the principal lawyer at Lloyd Family Law.
Katie graduated from McMaster University in 2001 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. She attended Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating in 2005. While at Osgoode, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada’s Family Law Project. She went on to become a Coordinator of the program. Her involvement with the Family Law Project had a profound impact on her approach to client service and understanding the issues regarding access to justice.
Following law school Katie articled at the Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee in Toronto. She was called to the bar in July 2006.
Shortly after being called to the bar Katie moved to Simcoe County to join the Family Law Department of one of the area’s largest law firms. She gained valuable mentoring in this position. Katie has represented clients in a variety of family law proceedings, including with regard to property division, child and spousal support, interjurisdictional support orders, custody/access, restraining orders, child abduction, mobility of parents, as well as variations to support and custody. Katie has also had the opportunity to represent her clients at mediation/arbitrations.
Katie is currently working towards becoming an accredited Mediator.

Katie knows work-life balance is essential, not only for her personally, but also to ensure that the quality of her work remains exceptional. Katie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, mountain biking and aerobics, as well as a good book.
